Happy New Year!

Well, I guess that was that then. Happy new year βœ¨πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ₯³πŸŽ‚. Cheers to more being present, to following the holiest voice that whispers eternity in our ears (even when we don’t want to). Here’s to those who have barely made it this year, here’s to those who held on strong and lifted up those around them. Here’s to you and to all you are so capable of and are yet still to find in the unlimited spaces within your heart πŸ’“ πŸ₯‚.

Verse of the Week

“For I ,the LORD, love justice;
I hate robbery for burnt offering;
I will direct their work in truth,
And will make with them an everlasting covenant.
Their descendants shall be known
among the Gentiles,
And their offspring among the people.
All who see them shall acknowledge them,
That they are the posterity whom
the LORD has blessed.” – Isaiah 61:8-9

‘Selah’ Coming Friday!

Hello beautiful people!

Today I want to share the behind-the-scenes of my first song ‘Selah’ but first I’ll start with this photo. This was taken whilst traveling the highway after the horrific fires in Australia at the end of last year, which was only a few months before COVID. Our breath was being taken from us by smoke and fire and now a deadly virus. Thankfully, as believers, God has breathed His breath within us and we breath His breath of life. We now have the power to speak life over death, rain during drought and wind to move fires away from those in danger. I heard and read quite a few amazing stories of God working with the fire fighters to change the winds. God is not the author of evil, but He allows these things to send a message to the world, to stop and remember He is God. He shakes the Earth to show us He is All Powerful not our idols. This leads to the meaning behind the title of the song ‘Selah’ which is only one word in the repeated verse in my song (which you will hear soon). The verse goes ‘Selah, Yahweh, Shalom’. Theologians and linguists have struggled to fully grasp the meaning of Selah. However, what they can comprehend is that it means to stop, pause and meditate on (JewishEncyclopedia.com, 2002-2011). As you read the psalms, and in other books of the Bible, you see this word often. ‘Yahweh’ which is Hebrew for ‘I AM, LORD and Elohim’. It is describe as a name too sacred and holy to speak out loud (Martin, 2020). And last but not least ‘shalom’ translates as ‘wholeness, prosperity, completeness, peace, wholeheartedness, restoration, health, with, boundless love’ (Leslie, 2020). So, as you sing along, as you listen we are declaring, we are reminding our souls to stop, pause remember Yahweh, I AM , He is everything He is Alpha and Omega AND He is your healing, prosperity, He is your wholeness, He is boundless love.

I pray that this song brings healing, peace and rest for you. That Christ our Saviour will speak to you and speak into exactly what you need.

Stay tuned for Friday!

God bless.

Love from,
Laura xo

Verse of the Week

“Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor the fruit be on the vine;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls –
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.

The LORD God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
And He will make me walk on my high hills.”
Habakkuk 3:17-19

Roses feel pain too.

“Roses feel pain too. To grow to bloom. To reach for the sun, to drink from the deepest source of water. To bud, to burst with life. Pain is beauty alright. To sprout thorns amongst smooth surface. A fortress. To open pores to release aroma, for others splendor. Roses feel pain too. Pain is a part of the process to fullfill our purpose.” – L.A MacDonald
